One line

Short, about fifty words
REELS is a roguelite built on a slot machine. The reels drop, your weapons fire on what they land on, and the souls you reap pay a toll to descend one more floor. The toll climbs faster than you do. Free trial, one purchase unlocks everything, no ads and no currency.
Long, about a hundred and fifty words
REELS is a roguelite built on a slot machine, released on iOS on 2 September 2026 by a solo developer. The reels drop, your weapons fire on whatever they land on, and the souls you reap pay a toll to descend one more floor. The hook is one inversion: it is a slot machine where you are not betting money, you are betting your run.
What makes it a roguelite rather than a gambling toy is where the depth sits. Charms do not add damage, they rewrite the rules of the spin itself: what counts as a hit, what a symbol does when it lands next to another, how many reels drop at all. Every floor runs its own machine and each one drops the reels differently, so a build that was carrying a run stops working and you have to see it coming.
There is a campaign with forced builds, an endless mode, and a daily challenge on a seed shared by every player that day.
This list is the reason the game exists, and it is the part worth writing about. A slot machine is a variable reward system we find repulsive because of what it takes from you. Take the money out, keep the variance, and what is left is a combat system.
I am the only person who worked on this, so anything is on the table: the design decisions, the ones that got reverted, why a paid game with no ads in 2026, and what the trial gate actually converts at. I will give real figures rather than an opinion.
